For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
COIN-IN-THE-SLOT OPERATED AMUSEMENT DEVICE. Any juke box, pinball machine, miniature bowling machine, pool table, bumper pool table, or other electronic game or machine of any kind which, upon the insertion of a coin, slug, token, chip, plate, disc, or similar objects, including but not limited to the swipe or insertion of an electronic card or key, may be operated by the public generally for use as a game, entertainment, or amusement, whether or not registering a score, and this term COIN-IN-THE-SLOT OPERATED AMUSEMENT DEVICE shall also include trivia games, video games, marble machines, skill ball, mechanical grab machines, and all games, operations, or transactions similar thereto under whatever name they may be known. The term COIN-IN-THE-SLOT OPERATED AMUSEMENT DEVICE shall also mean any electronic game machine, device, table, or implement, whether or not coin operated, but used as a game, entertainment, or amusement, whether or not registering a score, and whether or not involving electronic beams or beacons of light. COIN-IN-THE-SLOT OPERATED AMUSEMENT DEVICE also includes any electronic video game machine that is available to play or simulate the play of a video game, including but not limited to video poker, line up, and blackjack, utilizing a video display and microprocessors in which the player may receive free games or credits that CANNOT be redeemed for cash. In no case does the term COIN-IN-THE-SLOT OPERATED AMUSEMENT DEVICE include a machine that directly dispenses coins, cash, or tokens or that is not exclusively for amusement purposes.
