(A) For parking offenses in violation of this chapter, a notice consisting of a printed or hand written citation may be attached to any vehicle parked in violation of this chapter. The notice shall state that the vehicle has been illegally parked. The notice shall indicate the fines for the offenses designated thereon, and that the fines may be paid by placing the amount of the particular fine in the city courtesy box, delivering it to the Monticello Police Department, by mail or by paying the fine on the City of Monticello website within 10 days from the day the notice is attached to the vehicle. Minimum fines are set forth in § 72.99.
(B) The registered owner or owners of a vehicle that is illegally parked shall be presumed to be in control of the vehicle at the time of the violation.
(C) The penalty provisions contained in this chapter shall supersede the penalty provisions contained within any ordinance regulating parking within the city adopted prior to August 27, 2001.
