The following criteria are hereby established and must be met before a curb marking may be authorized:
(A) Red zone.
(1) This zone is to be used only to relieve an impending traffic or fire hazard, or as a bus stop.
(2) This zone shall not be used adjacent to private driveway approaches, except as may be necessary for the public safety or the free movement of traffic.
(B) Yellow zone.
(1) This zone is reserved only for commercial vehicle or school bus loading and unloading.
(2) There shall be a minimum of ten stops for pickup or delivery per day per business establishment or combination of establishments.
(3) There shall be no other yellow zone within 150 feet.
(4) There shall be no nearby alleys, off-street parking or other facilities from which loading and unloading are permitted.
(5) There shall be a maximum of one yellow zone per side per block, which shall be located at one end of the block.
(6) The maximum length shall be 30 feet.
(7) When this zone is to be used as a school bus loading zone, the requirements of divisions (B)(2) through (6) of this section need not be met.
(C) White zone.
(1) This zone is reserved specifically for churches, theaters, mortuaries, hotels, hospitals, taxicabs and mailboxes.
(2) The maximum length shall be 30 feet.
(D) Green zone.
(1) This zone is reserved only for high demand, short-time parking at banks, post offices, utility offices and such other locations as may be approved by the traffic safety committee.
