No person shall, within the city limits of the city, fire, shoot or discharge any gun, rifle, pistol or other firearms, or any air gun, air rifle or pistol, or any spring gun, spring rifle or spring pistol, or any carbon dioxide or any other gas-operated gun, rifle or pistol, or any slingshot, catapult, gum shooter, bow and arrow, crossbow, or blow gun, without having first obtained a written permit from the Chief of Police of the city.
