§ 6.24.040 BITTEN ANIMALS—WHEN TO BE QUARANTINED.
   (A)   Whenever any animal shall be bitten by another animal having rabies, or a bitten animal shows any symptoms of rabies, the owner or person having possession of the bitten animal shall immediately notify the Animal Control Officer or the Health Officer, and confine the animal, and keep it confined until it is established to the satisfaction of the Health Officer that it does not have rabies.
   (B)   The Health Officer shall have the authority to quarantine any such animal, or impound it at the owner's expense if the owner or person having control thereof shall fail to confine such animal immediately, or in case the owner or person having possession thereof is not readily accessible.
