§ 6.08.040 BARKING.
   BARKING shall mean an abrupt, harsh, explosive cry of a dog, howling or baying, by day or night, at frequent intervals or for extended periods of time. Barking shall not include a dog barking when in the act of protecting against or resisting a trespasser to the premises upon which the dog is kept, harbored or otherwise maintained. The burden of proof shall be upon the owner, keeper, harborer, or maintainer of the dog to establish barking in the act of protecting against or resisting a trespasser.
