§ 50.01 ELECTRICITY.
   (A)   The city shall treat its citizens in a fair and indiscrimianate manner, while recognizing the distinct needs and requirements of each customer. To provide uniformity of service, the city has adopted a City Customer Service Policy on February 2, 1993, and an Electric Service Policy on July 5, 1994. These most recently adopted policies will serve as a reasonable response to customer needs while meeting the requirements of good utilities business practices for the city.
   (B)   The city shall also adhere to all rules and regulations of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) entitled the “National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)” as amended, and the applicable portion of the General Statutes of North Carolina. Further, all operations are prefaced upon safety for the public and employees alike. Safety guidelines are detailed in the North Carolina Association of Municipal Electric Systems (NCAMES) safety manual as amended.
