For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PEDDLER. Any person, including agents or employees of any firm or corporation, whether a resident of the village or not, travelling by foot, wagon, automobile, motor truck, or any other type of conveyance from place to place, from house to house, or from door to door, carrying, conveying or transporting goods, wares or merchandise or offering or exposing the same for sale, or making sales and delivering articles to purchasers.
SOLICITOR. Any person, including agents and employees of any firm or corporation, whether a resident of the village or not, travelling either by foot, wagon, automobile, motor truck or any other type of conveyance, from place to place, from house to house, or from door to door, taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods, wares or merchandise, personal property of any nature, or any other item for future delivery or for services to be furnished or performed in the future.
TRANSIENT MERCHANT. Any person, whether as owner, agent, consignee or employee, and whether a resident of the village or not, who temporarily engages in the sale of merchandise for present or future delivery within the village and who in furtherance of such purpose, leases, uses or occupies
any building, vehicle, trailer, tent, railroad car, hotel or motel room or other place in the village for the exhibition and sale of such goods, wares and merchandise.
