(a) The terms of the Planning and Zoning Commission member serving on a Board established by Section 1349.01 shall be concurrent with that member's term on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The term of the Council member shall be two years from the time of appointment, or until such person is no longer a member of Village Council, whichever is shorter. The remaining members and the alternate members shall serve three year terms which shall be staggered according to the following schedule:
(1) The first three members shall be appointed to serve for an initial term of two years.
(2) The second two members shall be appointed to serve for an initial term of three years.
(b) All terms shall begin on January 31 of any given year, with the exception of the first appointed members who shall begin their terms on the day of appointment, and shall continue in that position until their term expires. Members of a Board may be removed for cause by the Village Council at any time. Vacancies caused by death, resignation or otherwise shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments. Vacancies shall be filled within forty-five days from the date of vacancy, unless extenuating circumstances require additional time. (Ord. 2010-101. Passed 4-26-10.)
