In recognition of the need for the establishment of a public body with authority to act upon changes to structures in the historic downtown and other designated areas in the Village and in order to encourage changes that are compatible with the restoration movement now in progress, the Design Review Board is hereby established and designated as the "Design Review Board”, sometimes referred to in this Chapter as the “DRB”. This board shall consist of five voting members who shall be residents of the Village and shall serve on this Board without compensation. The Village Planning and Zoning Commission shall designate one of its members for membership on such Board. Village Council, at its first meeting of every other year, shall appoint one of its members for membership on the Board. The remaining three members of such Board, together with two alternate members thereof, shall be appointed by Village Council from a public list of recommendations by local groups or citizens that meet the qualifications listed in Section 1349.02. The Village Zoning Inspector shall serve as a liaison for the Village in an advisory, non-voting capacity. This Millersburg Design Review Board shall regulate any Design District areas as designated by the map and any other designated or historic landmarks within the Village limits. (Ord. 2010-101.
