§ 1810.02 RABIES VACCINATIONS REQUIRED.
   No person who owns, keeps or harbors a dog, cat, or ferret in the City shall fail to comply with the following requirements:
   (a)   Effective July 14, 1998, every dog, cat, or ferret in the City six months of age or older shall be vaccinated against rabies. Unvaccinated dogs, cats, or ferrets acquired or moved into the City shall be vaccinated within 30 days after their purchase or arrival, unless they are under six months of age as specified in this division.
   (b)   Every dog vaccinated between six and 12 months of age shall be re-vaccinated one year later and at not more than 36 month intervals thereafter. Every cat and ferret shall be re-vaccinated annually.
   (c)   The interval between re-vaccination shall be based on the type of vaccine being used, the nature of the rabies in the community and the recommendation of the current Compendium of Animal Rabies Vaccines prepared by the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians, Inc.
   (d)   All vaccines shall be administered by a licensed veterinarian and the costs thereof borne by the owner of the dog, cat, or ferret.
