§ 1428.03 REGISTRATION APPLICATION AND FEES.
   (a)   The fee for registration of a master plumber shall be two hundred dollars ($200.00) to be paid at the time of registration. Every person, upon registration, shall present a copy of their active State license to the City along with evidence that they are insured in the minimum amount as required by the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board in accordance with Ohio R.C. 4740.06(B)(4), and a bond approved by the Director of Law in the penal sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00). Such bond shall be conditioned to reimburse the City for actual damages caused by act or omission of the plumber to any property, and to hold the City free and harmless from all claims for damages due to the negligence or misfeasance of such master plumber, or that may be occasioned by reason of any opening made in any street, public land, alley or avenue, in the making of any connection with any public or private sewer. Such bond shall be in force from the date of its acceptance to the expiration date listed on the bond and must be renewed annually. The active state license must name the same company as that listed on the registration application. The proof of insurance shall name the City of Middletown as the certificate holder. The master plumber registration shall specify the name of the person so registered, who shall thereby be authorized to engage in the occupation of a master plumber.
   (b)   A plumbing journeyman registration shall be issued to any person who has duly made application therefore and has passed the examination with a minimum score of 70%, as prescribed by the City. Persons desiring to take the examination for a plumbing journeyman registration shall make written application therefor, accompanied by a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00). Such fees shall not be refunded, but any applicant failing the examination shall be entitled to one re-examination without fee. Exams must be completed within 90 days of the application date. The plumbing journeyman registration shall specify the name of the person so registered, who shall thereby be authorized to perform work as a plumbing journeyman.
   (c)   A plumbing apprentice registration shall be issued, without examination, to beginners or plumbing apprentices employed by a person registered as a master plumber with the City, upon application and payment of the fee of twenty dollars ($20.00). The plumbing apprentice registration shall specify the name of the person so registered, who shall thereby be authorized to perform work as a plumbing apprentice.
