(a) PLUMBER’S WORK. Means and includes the work performed on all piping in a building upon which tests are required to a point of three feet outside the foundation walls and includes the house drain, soil, waste or vent stack, conductors and roof leaders. Such work also includes the installation, repair or replacement of water heaters or other plumbing fixtures. Such work further includes the installation, repair or replacement of all water and sewer lines outside the building to the property or curb line, or to a septic tank.
(b) MASTER PLUMBER. A person registered as a master plumber with the City. In order to register as a master plumber the person must possess an active license issued by the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board in accordance with Ohio R.C. Chapter 4740 for a plumbing contractor, as that term is defined in Ohio R.C. 4740.01(B)(hereinafter a State License). Only a master plumber may apply for permits and be the representative of the business entity in all matters relating to Title Eight of Part Fourteen of the Codified Ordinances.
(c) PLUMBING JOURNEYMAN. A person registered as a plumbing journeyman with the City, and performing the actual physical plumbing contractor's work. A plumbing journeyman must be working under the general direction and supervision of a master plumber registered to work in the City. Plumbing journeyman contractors cannot obtain permits.
(d) PLUMBING APPRENTICE. A person, registered as a plumbing apprentice with the City, who is employed by a master plumber registered to work in the City and in the process of learning the plumbing trade by practical experience, under the instruction and direct supervision of a master plumber or plumbing journeyman.
