§ 1416.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply, unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   (a)   HEATING, VENTILATION OR AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTOR WORK. Means and includes the work of installing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, blower and exhaust units (hereinafter HVAC).
   (b)   MASTER HVAC CONTRACTOR. A person registered as a master HVAC contractor with the City. In order to register as a master HVAC contractor the person must possess an active license issued by the Ohio Construction Industry Examining Board in accordance with Ohio R.C. Chapter 4740 for a heating, ventilating or air conditioning contractor, as that term is defined in Ohio R.C. 4740.01(B) (hereinafter a State License). Only a master HVAC contractor may apply for permits and be the representative of the business entity in all matters relating to Title Four of Part Fourteen of the Codified Ordinances.
   (c)   HVAC JOURNEYMAN. A person registered as an HVAC journeyman with the City and performing the actual physical HVAC contractor’s work. An HVAC journeyman must be working under the general direction and supervision of a master HVAC contractor registered to work in the City. HVAC journeyman contractors cannot obtain permits.
   (d)   HVAC APPRENTICE. A person, registered as an HVAC apprentice with the City who is employed by a master HVAC contractor registered to work in the City and in the process of learning the HVAC trade by practical experience, under the instruction and direct supervision of a master HVAC contractor or HVAC journeyman.
