§ 872.03 LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIRED; EXTENT OF LIABILITY.
   (a)   No party shall operate a taxicab within the City of Middletown without having proper insurance. Any party operating a taxicab within the City must provide to the Taxicab Licensing Official proof of insurance policy in force which provides liability coverage for the operation as a taxicab.
   (b)   Each taxicab vehicle must have the following documentation on file with the Taxicab Licensing Official providing proof of insurance providing the following:
      (1)   The vehicle has an insurance policy, or bond, in effect which insures the vehicle for use as a taxicab;
      (2)   A certificate of insurance, or bond, listing the City of Middletown as a certificate holder;
      (3)   The following minimum levels of insurance, or equivalent bond:
         A.   $300,000 in combined coverage; OR
         B.   $100,000 in injury or death of one person per accident, AND
         C.   $300,000 in injury or death of more than one person per accident, AND
         D.   $100,000 in property damage coverage per accident.
      (4)   All listed amounts of insurance coverage required for bodily injury shall include, but not be limited to, the bodily injury of any passengers of the taxicab.
   (c)   The operator of a taxicab shall notify the City within ten days of any lapse of insurance.
