§ 818.08 EFFECTIVE PERIOD OF LICENSE; EXTENSION.
   (a)   No distress merchandise sale shall be licensed for a period of more than 30 consecutive calendar days.

   (b)   The City Manager may, upon application therefor five days prior to the thirtieth day of the distress merchandise sale, extend the period of the sale for no longer than 15 consecutive calendar days, provided that he or she finds from the records of the sale that more than 60% of the goods, wares and merchandise included in the inventory remains unsold. The City Manager may, upon application therefor five days prior to the forty-fifth day of the sale, extend the period of the sale for no longer than 15 consecutive days, provided that he or she finds from the records of the sale that more than 30% of the goods, wares and merchandise included in the inventory remains unsold. Thereafter, upon application therefor three days before the expiration of the sixtieth day, the City Manager may extend such sale for no longer than 30 days if it appears that there is merchandise included in the inventory remaining unsold, provided, however, that such final extension shall be made only if he or she finds 30% of the goods, wares and merchandise included in the inventory remains unsold, and that every reasonable and bona fide effort has been made to promote and complete the sale.
