§ 816.05 QUALIFICATIONS OF LICENSEE; REFERRAL TO CHIEF OF POLICE.
   (a)   The license required in § 816.02 shall not be issued to any applicant therefor who has within the six months preceding his application for such license been convicted of the violation of any law or ordinance regulating or pertaining to public dance halls or public dances, or the violation of any of the provisions of Chapters 612, 624 or 666 of Part Six - the General Offenses Code, or an existing or former municipal ordinance or law of this or any other state or the United States substantially equivalent to such provisions. Such license shall also not be granted if within the six months preceding the application therefor any similar license held by such applicant has been revoked.

   (b)   Such license shall not be issued until the application therefor has been referred to the Chief of Police, and he reports that there is no objection under the provisions of division (a) hereof to its issuance.
