As used in this chapter:
(a) PARKING METER. A device that indicates thereon the length of time during which a vehicle may be parked in a particular place and that has a receptacle or chamber for receiving and storing coins of United States money, a slot or place in which such coin may be deposited, a timing mechanism to indicate the passage of the interval of time during which parking is permissible, and that also displays an appropriate signal when such interval of time has elapsed.
(b) INDIVIDUAL PARKING SPACE. That portion of the paved surface of the street approximately 20 feet in length extending from the sidewalk curb into the street a sufficient distance to accommodate a vehicle when the same is parked parallel to the curb with the right wheels thereof not more than 12 inches from such curb.
(c) ANGLE PARKING SPACE. That portion of the paved surface of the street approximately eight feet wide on the square and extending into the paved portion of the roadway, at an angle of approximately 45 degrees, a sufficient distance to accommodate a vehicle when the same is parked at such angle to the sidewalk curb.
