The Director of Law shall be head of the Department of Law and shall act as the legal advisor to and counsel for the City, and to all officers in matters relating to their official duties. He or she shall prepare all resolutions and bonds and other instruments in writing in which the City is concerned, and shall endorse on each his or her approval of the form and correctness thereof. He or she shall, at the discretion of the City Manager, prosecute or defend all suits at law or in equity in which the City is interested, and shall perform such other duties as may be required from time to time by the City Manager.
