All signs existing in the City on the effective date of this Code, other than temporary signs, are required to have a sign permit application on file at City Hall within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of this Code, to establish a record of existing signs in the City. Applications for permits for signs existing on the effective date of this Code are exempt from any sign permit fees adopted as a part of this Code, if submitted within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of this Code. Information included on the application shall contain sufficient information for the City Administrator to make a determination as to whether the sign is in conformance with this Code. The erection of a permanent sign after the effective date of this Code shall require a sign permit as required in Article VII of this Code.
