These codes shall be enforced at the option of the city, by city officials hired or appointed; or by appointed county officials; or by contract with an appointed agency or professional group authorized and trained to perform such enforcement measures; or a combination of any of these alternatives. Any person or persons violating this subchapter are subject to the maximum penalties as prescribed by law.
