(A) A person shall be deemed qualified in the business of electrical contracting if he or she has passed a block proctored examination with a passing grade of 72% as master electrician, possesses a county license and shall be registered with the State Department of Business and Professional Regulation; or be certified by the state.
(B) Such persons deemed qualified shall purchase a city occupational license for such trade. If such persons meet these qualifications and are licensed in another municipality in the county, a fee will be charged for city registration for issuance of a card of competency and which shall be renewed annually for a fee as long as card is kept up to date. Such fees are established by resolution of the City Council; state certified electrical contractors are only required to obtain an occupational license.
