§ 31.015 EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY PLAN.
   (A)   The Corporate Authorities of the City of Metropolis adopt the following policy statement:
Consistent with previous motions, resolutions, and ordinances of the City Council, and then in accordance with federal, state and local laws, the City of Metropolis, Illinois, is committed to maintaining a workforce and workplace that is free of unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin, sex, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or preference, martial or family status, or political affiliation.
   (B)   The Corporate Authorities hereby approve the Equal Employment Opportunity Plan for the City of Metropolis, Illinois as a whole which is attached to Resolution passed May 10, 2010 as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference and the Equal Employment Opportunity Plan for the Metropolis Police Department which is attached to Resolution passed May 10, 2010 as Exhibit B and incorporated herein by reference.
   (C)   The Mayor, City Clerk, appointed officers and department heads of the city are hereby directed to adopt rules and procedures and to take the required steps necessary to implement the objectives of the Equal Employment Opportunity Plans set forth in division (B) above.
   (D)   The City Clerk is hereby directed to disseminate both internally and externally, copies of the Plan utilizing the method of distribution described in the Plan.
   (E)   The City Clerk is directed to distribute a copy of the Equal Employment Opportunity Plan for the Metropolis Police Department to the City of Metropolis Fire and Police Commission for purposes of implementing the objectives and steps contained within the Plan and for purposes of dissemination of the Plan and the information contained within the Plan.
