Upon the approval by the Mayor of the application and bonds as is provided in this chapter and the payment of the required license fee, the City Clerk shall issue to the person or persons applying therefor a license to retail alcoholic liquors under the provisions of this chapter, for the term for which such license is issued, which license shall be signed by the Mayor.
