A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk, being marked and designated as the Illinois Vehicle Code (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, §§ 1-100 et seq.), as the same may hereafter be amended from time to time by the state, and the same is hereby adopted as and henceforth shall be known as the Metropolis Vehicle Code (M.V.C.); any reference therein to the Illinois Vehicle Code or the Act, shall be deemed to indicate and mean the Metropolis Vehicle Code; and each and all of the provisions, terms, conditions, enumerations, and penalties thereof, as the same may hereafter be amended by the state, are hereby adopted by reference thereto and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter. In the event that a penalty provision is not provided for by the Illinois Vehicle Code in regard to any violation of the Code that may hereafter occur, then the terms and provisions of the general penalty provisions of this code shall be applicable. The prosecuting authority for any violation of the Metropolis Vehicle Code (M.V.C.) shall be the office of the Corporate Counsel.
