§ 34.02 CHIEF OF FIRE DEPARTMENT; DUTIES.
   (A)   Establishment. There is created the office of the Chief of the Fire Department. The Chief of the Fire Department shall report directly to the Director of Public Safety. Subject to the authority of the Director of Public Safety, the Chief of the Fire Department shall be the head of the Fire Department of the City and shall be responsible for the day to day management and control of all matters and things pertaining thereto.
   (B)   Fire Chief shall sign all notices. The Chief of the Fire Department shall sign, or caused to be signed, all certificates and notices to be issued under the authority of the Fire Department and he or she shall keep a proper record thereof.
   (C)   Salary and compensation. The salary and compensation of the Chief of the Fire Department shall be set annually by the appropriation ordinance.
