(A) The Director of Public Safety shall manage and control the Fire Department, assisted by the Chief of the Fire Department or such subordinate officers as needed. In the absence of an appointed Chief of the Fire Department, all duties and functions heretofore performed by the Chief of the Fire Department shall be performed by the Director of Public Safety or his or her designee.
(B) The Director of Public Safety shall manage and control the Police Department, assisted by the Chief of the Police Department or such subordinate officers as are needed. In the absence of an appointed Chief of Police, all duties and functions heretofore performed by the Chief of Police shall be performed by the Director of Public Safety or his or her designee.
(C) All other duties related to Public Safety that may be assigned by the Mayor.
