The Director of Public Safety shall be the executive officer of the Department of Public Safety. The Director shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. The Director shall inform the Mayor and City Council as to the business and operations of the department and shall manage the personnel of the department. The management and control of the Public Safety Department shall be reflected on an organizational chart for such department. The compensation of the Director of Public Safety shall be set annually by the City Council in the appropriation ordinance.
