(a) The fee charged for a certificate of inspection shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) for the first dwelling or business unit in any building or structure, and an additional forty dollars ($40.00) for each additional dwelling or business unit in such building or structure. The fee(s) shall be paid at the time the application for a certificate of inspection is filed with the City.
(b) There shall be no fee for any re-inspection requested by the same owner within one year from the date of issuance of a certificate of inspection for the same property. In the event that it is necessary for the City to re-inspect the dwelling or business unit more than one time in a year for any reason, including verifying compliance with prior City inspection requirements, then the fee for any such re-inspection shall be thirty dollars ($30.00) for each such re-inspection. In the event that the property owner can demonstrate indigence, then the Zoning Inspector may waive the inspection fee or require that the inspection fee be paid out of the proceeds of the sale of the home.
(c) Upon receipt of a proper application, the Zoning Inspector or his or her designee shall issue a rebate of seventy-five percent of the point of sale inspection fee to any person who sells his, her or its City property and then repurchases a home or commercial property within the City within one year of the date that such person sold such residence or commercial building. Any application for a rebate shall be made within one year of the date of the purchase of the new residence or commercial building in the City.
