1036.01   TREE PROTECTION; INTENT.
   Trees, as defined, regulated and protected under the provisions of this chapter, are hereby declared to be natural public resources and it is the intent of the City to encourage the planting, replacement and protection of trees, as set forth in this chapter, in the interest of the health, safety and welfare of present and future residents of the City. To attain that end, it shall be unlawful to cut down, damage, poison or in any other manner destroy or cause to be destroyed any tree as covered by the provisions of this chapter, except in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. In addition, it shall be the responsibility of any person, organization, society, association or corporation, or any agent or representative thereof, to plant a given number of trees, as specified in this chapter, to increase the inventory of trees in the City for future residents.
