(a) Any full-time employee of the City, except probationary employees, may, for good cause, apply to the Mayor for a leave of absence without pay. Such application must include the recommendation of the employee's immediate supervisor.
(b) No leave of absence shall exceed six months, nor shall any leave be granted to permit employees to work elsewhere. If an employee accepts other employment while on a leave of absence, he or she shall be deemed to have quit employment with the City as of the first day of his or her leave of absence.
