(a) All hourly City employees, except members of the Police and Fire Departments, shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half times their regular hourly rate of pay for actual hours worked over 40 in their regularly scheduled work week.

(b) Overtime for members of the Police Department is defined as time actually worked in excess of 80 hours in a 14-day work period. Overtime for members of the Fire Department is defined as time actually worked in excess of 106 hours in a 14-day work period. Such overtime will be paid at the rate of one and one-half times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate.

(c) Time paid for holidays, vacations, bereavement leave or sick leave as a result of a work related injury shall be considered time worked for the purpose of computing overtime for all employees.
(d) All employees may elect to receive compensatory time off in lieu of overtime pay and must select the method of payment by the end of the pay period. Employees may accumulate compensatory time to a maximum of eighty hours. Any overtime worked in excess of such eighty hour maximum shall be paid.

(f) Compensatory time off shall be scheduled in a manner so as not to interfere with the efficient operation of any department and shall require the approval of the department head.
