10-20-11: SIGN TYPES:
Adult-use cannabis business establishments. A signage plan shall be submitted as part of the conditional use permit.
Neon signs. Neon signs are only permitted in Nonresidential Zoning Districts on interior windows in accordance with the following provisions and section 10-20-13, “Table 1”, of this chapter.
   A.   Only one neon sign is permitted per window pane.
   B.   Visible neon tubing and use of light emitting diode (LED) technology shall not be used to outline windows and doors, accentuate or trim architectural features or outline borders of signs or buildings.
   C.   Neon signs shall not cover more than fifty percent (50%) of any window pane.
New business grand opening signs.
   A.   Regulations: In addition to other signs and displays permitted herein, the following shall be applicable solely for grand opening signs for new businesses, as defined herein. This subsection does not apply to grand reopenings. Any business, as defined herein, conducting a grand reopening must comply with the temporary sign regulations in section 10-20-13, “Table 1”, of this chapter:
      1.   Time Limit To Obtain: Grand opening sign permits must be obtained within one hundred eighty (180) days of receipt of a certificate of occupancy or temporary certificate of occupancy;
      2.   Term: Grand opening signs are permitted one time for a maximum of fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days;
      3.   Banner: One banner, maximum of thirty two (32) square feet, located a minimum of five feet (5') from all property lines shall be permitted;
      4.   Feather Banners: Two (2) feather banners, in accordance with the regulations in section 10-20-13, “Table 1”, of this chapter, are permitted;
      5.   Inflatable: One inflatable (e.g., balloon, dancing figure) is permitted.
   B.   Permit Fee; Deposit: In accordance with subsection 10-1-4B1 of this title, nonresidential construction, a nonrefundable permit fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) in addition to a temporary/portable sign permit deposit of one hundred dollars ($100.00) is required for all grand opening sign permits.
Service station/automobile repair shop signs and displays. In addition to other signs and displays permitted herein, the following displays are permitted as accessory to automobile service stations:
   A.   Product Displays And Temporary Signs:
      1.   Items for sale on the premises openly displayed within twenty feet (20') of the principal building, but not within any required yard, as well as under pump island canopies or between pumps within the area of the pump island base.
      2.   Up to two (2) temporary signs within twenty feet (20') of the principal building advertising products for sale on the premises with a combined sign area not greater than thirty (30 square feet.
   B.   Pricing Signs: Freestanding signs providing only pricing information that have a sign area not greater than twelve (12) square feet and that conform to all other requirements for main freestanding signs in commercial areas in section 10-20-13, “Table 1”, of this chapter.
