Following the expiration of the portable/temporary sign permit to whom the permit was issued must contact the Community and Economic Development Department, during normal business hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, excluding recognized holidays which the office is not open), at (815)363-2170, within 5 business days to schedule an inspection to verify its removal. If the sign has been removed, the permit will be closed and the $30.00 deposit will be refunded to the applicant. If the applicant does not contact the Community and Economic Development Department within 5 business days following the expiration of the portable/temporary sign permit, the deposit will be permanently retained by the City.

Note:
   1.    A portable/temporary $100.00 deposit shall be required exclusively for grand opening signs. Grand opening signs must comply with all other provisions outlined in subsection B24c of this section, in addition to all regulations included in section 10-20-13, “New Business Grand Opening Signs”, of this title.
   D.   Increase Due To Construction Prior To Permit: The aforesaid residential and nonresidential permit fees shall be increased by fifty percent (50%) where construction has been commenced before a permit is issued for such work.
   E.   Collection And Deposit: All fees as are herein established or made, by amendment, or hereinafter established by the City Council, shall be collected by the Community Development Department and deposited with the Finance Director.
