§ 171.04 BASIS FOR ESTABLISHING THE SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREAS.
   The flood insurance study (FIS), and/or accompanying flood insurance rate maps (FIRMs) and/or flood hazard boundary maps (FHBMs) prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Insurance Administration (FIA) for the county, November 1, 2011 wherein special flood hazard areas (SFHA) are identified, are adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter. This FIS and attendant mapping is the minimum area of applicability of this chapter and may be supplemented by studies for other areas which allow implementation of this chapter and which are recommended to the Fiscal Court by the Floodplain Administrator and are enacted by Fiscal Court pursuant to statutes governing land use management regulations. The flood insurance study (FIS) and/or flood insurance rate map (FIRM), and/or flood hazard boundary maps (FHBMs) are permanent records of the county, and are on file and available for review by the public during regular business hours at 3700 Coleman Road, Paducah, KY 42001, McCracken County Emergency Management Building.
