§ 150.202 POWER AND AUTHORITY; STOP WORK ORDERS.
   (A)   Under the direction of the City Manager, the Building Inspector shall be the municipal official who shall have the duty of enforcing all building and housing regulations as herein prescribed. He or she shall inspect all buildings repaired, altered, built, or moved in the municipality as often as necessary to ensure compliance with all municipal ordinances.
   (B)   Whenever any building or construction work is being done contrary to the provisions of the codes or in a dangerous or unsafe manner, the Building Inspector at his discretion, may order the work stopped by notice in writing served on any persons engaged in doing or causing the work to be done. The notice shall state the conditions under which work is authorized to resume. Any person shall immediately stop, or cause to be stopped, the work until authorization is received from the Building Inspector to continue the work. If the stop work order is an oral one, it shall be followed by a written stop work order within one business day. The written order may be served by any municipal police officer.
   (C)   When any structure is in a dangerous condition or the building is being used contrary to the provisions of the laws of the municipality, the Building Inspector, under the direction of the City Manager, may order the use discontinued or the structure, or portion thereof in violation, vacated as set forth in Chapter 150, Unsafe Buildings, § 150.300 et seq.
