No subdivision of land which was not lawfully existing at the time of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall be made lawful solely by reason of the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, and to the extent that the subdivision of land is in conflict in any manner with the requirements of this chapter, the subdivision of land remains unlawful under this chapter.
