(A) The following standards for hiring part-time police officers are hereby established as follows:
(1) Part-time police officers must be citizens of the United States of America; and
(2) Part-time police officers must have successfully completed the 400-hour basic law enforcement recruit training or its equivalent from another jurisdiction, or be entitled to receive a waiver from the State Law Enforcement Training Standards Board, if necessary.
(B) The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to submit a certified copy of this section to the State Law Enforcement Training Standards Board for approval.
