§ 99.02 AUTHORIZATION FOR TOWING OR MOVING VEHICLES.
   (A)   The towing or moving of vehicles by the Village, or by its approved towing service operators on behalf of the Village, shall be authorized only by the Police Department or the Building and Code Enforcement Department and only under the circumstances provided in the Code.
      (1)   Towing without notice; immediate tows. Hazardous or unlawful vehicles, as defined in § 99.01, may be towed immediately and without notice.
      (2)   Towing with prior notice. Abandoned and inoperable vehicles, as defined in § 99.01, may be towed after notice and an opportunity for a pre-tow hearing as set forth in §§ 99.03 and 99.04.
   (B)   Towed vehicles shall be impounded at facilities designated by the Police Department or the Village Manager until lawfully claimed or disposed of in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Illinois Vehicle Code or any other state statute governing the disposition and sale of abandoned, lost, stolen and unclaimed vehicles.
