917.07 MOVING OF TREES; CASH DEPOSIT OR BOND REQUIRED.
Any moving of a tree in any public place made necessary by the moving of a building or other structure or any private enterprise shall be done under the supervision of and with the written permission of the Director of Public Service and at the expense of the person seeking the moving of the tree. The applicant, as one of the conditions to obtaining permission, shall deposit with the City a sum, in cash, as the Director may determine to cover all costs of moving and replacing the tree, if the conditions of the permission require its replacement. In lieu of the cash deposit the Director may, at his or her discretion, accept a good and sufficient bond in a like amount conditioned upon the payment of all costs of the moving and replacing of the tree.
