When the moving of any building or other structure for which a permit has been granted is completed and all damage to public streets and/or other public property has been repaired and the costs of repairing the damage and of performing other work as provided for in this chapter have been paid out of the deposit required by Section 1365.06(b), such portion of the deposit then remaining unused under this chapter shall be refunded upon the surrender of the deposit receipt representing the money so deposited. However, if the costs of repairing damage or performing other work exceed the total amount of money deposited, the permittee shall be held liable for the amount of damage and/or other costs which are in excess of the amount deposited. The Director of Finance, upon receipt of a request from the Director of Buildings, shall collect that part of the claim which is in excess of the deposit from the permittee.
