The Mayor shall execute on behalf of the Municipality all contracts, conveyances, evidences of indebtedness and all other instruments to which the Municipality is a party, except that the Mayor may designate in writing the Director of any Department, in the Mayor's stead, to execute contracts relative to a specific project or matter, provided such contracts do not exceed any applicable maximum dollar amount as specified by ordinance of Council. The Municipal Clerk shall execute on behalf of the City all conveyances, evidences of indebtedness and all other instruments to which the City is a party.
