966.12 DAMAGE OR ABUSE OF TREE IN PUBLIC PLACE.
   (a)   No person, without privilege to do so, shall purposely:
      (1)   Abuse, destroy, remove or mutilate any tree, shrub, plant, bush or other vegetation located in a public place; or
      (2)   Attach or place any object, sign, poster, handbill, rope or wire, other than a rope or wire intended to support a young or damaged tree, upon any tree, shrub, plant, bush or other vegetation located in a public place; or
      (3)   Damage, destroy, remove, or mutilate any tree, shrub, plant, bush, or other vegetation:
         A.   Required to be preserved under a Tree Preservation Plan; or,
         B.   With the intent to evade the provisions of this chapter.
   (b)   No person shall recklessly allow any gaseous, liquid or solid substance which is harmful to vegetation to come into contact with any tree, shrub, plant, bush or other vegetation located in a public place, or the leaves or roots thereof.
