The following regulations shall apply to private sewage disposal systems:
(a) Where a public sanitary sewer is not available under the provisions of this chapter, the building sewer shall be connected to a private sewage disposal system complying with the provisions of the regulations of the County Health Department. (See Section 927.05).
(b) Before commencement of construction of a private sewage disposal system, the owner shall first obtain a written permit from the County Health Department and secure the approval of the Director of Public Service.
(c) The type, capacities, location and layout of a private sewage disposal system shall comply with all provisions of the regulations of the County Health Department.
(d) At such time as a public sewer becomes available to a property served by a private sewage disposal system, a direct connection shall be made to the public sewer in compliance with this chapter, and any septic tanks, cesspools and similar private sewage disposal facilities shall be abandoned and filled with stone or other suitable material within thirty days after connection to the public sewer, and the owner shall comply with all requirements of the County Health Department.
