909.01 DEFINITIONS.
   Certain words or expressions used in this chapter shall be construed to mean as follows:
   (a)   "City" means the City of Maumee, Lucas County, Ohio.
   (b)   "Construction" means the construction of new work where no work has previously been done.
   (c)   "Contractor" means any person, persons or company licensed by the City to construct or reconstruct walks, driveways and other work permitted under this chapter, acting directly or through a duly authorized representative.
   (d)   "Council" means the Council of the City of Maumee.
   (e)   "Curb opening" means that part of a curb which has been or is cut, dropped or replaced.
   (f)   "Director" means the Director of the Department of Public Service or his duly authorized representative.
   (g)   "Driveway" means any driveway approach or runway between the curb line and private property line.
   (h)   "Engineer" means the Director of Public Service.
   (i)   "Mayor" means the Mayor of the City of Maumee or any person acting as such pursuant to law or the City Charter.
   (j)   "Owner" means the owner, owners, lessee or agent thereof, holding title to any private property adjoining any street in the City. If such owner is not a resident of the City, the word "owner" includes any person charged with the collection of rents or payment of taxes on such property or having general control thereon in any way.
   (k)   "Person" means any person, persons, partnership or corporation.
   (l)   "Reconstruction" means the relaying, rebuilding or repair of old work in part or as a whole.
   (m)   "Right-of-way" means any public property dedicated for public use as a street, avenue, boulevard, lane, alley or public thoroughfare.
   (n)   "Solicitor" means the Solicitor of the City of Maumee.
   (o)   "Street" means any public thoroughfare dedicated for public use.
   (p)   "Walk" means any main or approach sidewalk, between the curb line and private property lines.
