§ 154.01 SCOPE.
   For the purpose of the protection of the lives and persons of the citizens of the city and of the public generally, for the protection of property from the danger of fire, explosion, gas, public nuisances and other hazards dangerous to public peace, health and safety, as a result of the drilling for and production of petroleum and natural gas within the city, it is unlawful for any person, either for himself or acting as agent, employee, or servant of any other person, to engage in any work or to erect any structures, tanks, machinery, pipe lines or other appurtenances, incident to the drilling for or production of petroleum or natural gas or to operate, maintain or permit to exist any equipment, structures or appurtenances incident to such production or to use or maintain any property or premises in violation of this chapter.
