§ 117.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   LIMOUSINE SERVICE. A service provided to carry passengers in an automobile with a greater seating capacity than six passengers and registered with the Secretary of State for the State of Illinois as a "livery" vehicle and displaying a current "livery" license plate.
   OPERATOR. The person owning and operating a taxicab or taxicabs in the city.
   STREET. Any street, alley, lane, court or public place in the city.
   TAXICAB. Any motor vehicle carrying passengers for hire for which public patronage is solicited; provided that railroad cars and motor buses operated by the city or operated under franchise or under the authority and jurisdiction of the State Commerce, shall not be considered taxicabs; provided further that a limousine service shall not be considered a taxi cab.
