§ 90.25 BITING ANIMALS.
   Any animal which shall bite any person or injure any person shall be kept under observation of a licensed veterinarian for a period of ten days, and the veterinarian shall at the end of the ten-day period make a written report to the City Health Officer and should the animal show evidence of rabies, then it shall be killed in a humane manner. In the event the animal is pronounced free from rabies by the veterinarian, the animal may be released to the owner or keeper upon payment of the veterinarian's fees and all costs involved in the maintenance of such animal and also the annual license fee for any such unlicensed animal. If the owner or keeper does not claim and accept the animal at the end of such two-week period, any person may redeem the animal by making like payment. If the animal is not claimed as set forth herein, the animal shall be killed in a humane manner. In any event, the owner or keeper of any such animal shall pay the veterinarian's fees.
