A reserve police officer shall have no enforcement authority except when in immediate association with regular officers of the department, or when performing policy functions assigned and supervised by the department. A reserve police officer may assist a duly sworn police officer in making an arrest pursuant to Section 16(c) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (MCL 764.16(c)).
