Sec. 34-54. Worker's compensation.
A reserve police officer, while performing his duties under the direction of the chief of police, is an employee of the city and is entitled to receive worker's compensation benefits. The reserve police officer's average weekly earnings at the time of the duty-related injury or illness shall form the basis for compensation under the Worker's Disability Compensation Act of 1969 (MCL 418.101 et seq.).
